Artist Highlight: Michelle Pressler

We're so excited to take you on a photographic journey of Michelle Pressler's sweet, soft and feminine jewelry. Made with hand cut gemstones and silver and gold-fill metals, Pressler's quality matches her artistic eye.

​Why did you decide to become a jewelry designer? 
I have always loved jewelry and anything that caught the sunlight and sparkled. As a child I collected mica from the playground, and bits of glass, and rocks and minerals.

​Where do you draw your greatest inspiration from?
I look to current interior design trends as well as historical details in architecture, furniture, and anything decorative.

​What is a typical day in your studio like?
Mostly making jewelry for orders, answering emails, packing and shipping orders, a 3 pm walk to the bank and post office.

​Where was your favorite vacation? 
Any place with mountains. Arizona, Nevada, California.

What song do you have on repeat right now?
We listen to wxpn and npr in the studio, so we always hear current alternative music. I listen to my own music if I’m in the mood for classical.

What are you working on that you’re most excited about? 
Current styles are constantly inspiring new versions, in different materials, so I am keeping a list of pieces that have inspired fall evolutions.
